Corvettes, conversation & a Father’s Day celebration
Our second-Saturday morning at Southwood Cars & Coffee came with an extra-special destination. On June 13, we joined fellow members of Cruisin’ Corvettes of Tallahassee for a caravan to Brookdale Senior Living, where the club had been invited to help celebrate Father’s Day.
Over a dozen Vettes rolled up, ready to share some Corvette excitement and make the residents’ Father’s Day celebration a little louder and a lot more fun. We lined up outside Brookdale before heading in together.
The residents had a blast getting a closer look, asking questions and taking a seat in the cars. Some wanted more than a look: they wanted to hear the roar of those Corvette engines! It was a morning full of conversation, shared enthusiasm and the simple pleasure of bringing the cars out for others to enjoy.
My eight-year-old grandson, Luke, took the car photos, capturing the day from his own perspective. I loved having him along to help tell the story of a Father’s Day celebration I was glad to be part of.
